Ham and Cheese.. touch with fresh sage We used: for a serving for 2 Non stick cooking spray 6oz Farmer John Original Smoked Ham slice 2 slices Jarlsberg Lite reduced-fat Swiss Cheese 2 medium Sweet Potaoes, rinsed and stabbed 2 tablespoons Sugar Free Maple flavored Syrup 1 cup Fresh Brocolli florets, steamed 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds, toasted in a warmed skillet Garnish: Fresh Sage leaves and Cinnamon Apple Slices, see below Let's first talk about making up some cinnamon apple slices. You'll want to core the apple and slice it in fairly thin slices, ok to leave the peel on. Make a simple syrup with water and splenda and in a saucepan heat and add a cinnamon stick and parts of a cut vanilla bean. Let cool and pour over the apple slices in a glass dish that you can lid an store in the refrigerator. Makes a great garnish or topping for desserts as well. Directions: In a microwave cook sweet potatoes for approx 4 minutes, turn and repeat in 2 minute intervals until done. Steam brocolli til tender. In a non stick skillet lightly spray with non stick cooking spray and on medium high heat brown the ham slice that has been cut in half. Turn and repeat on other side. In the same skillet warm 4 cinnamon apple slices. Turn off the heat, add cheese slice and let it soften and melt from the heat of the ham. Plate ham slice with melted cheese and garnish with sage leaves. Add sweet potato, cut open and add maple syrup. Add brocolli and dash sesame seeds lightly over the top.
